| Do you recall what the first mech-esque thing you encountered was? For me it was a movie I saw when I was a young boy. It's a 1990 film titled Robot Jox. Ever since I saw that cheese-encrusted gem of a flick I was enamored with all things mech. If you missed out on this practically unheard of movie you can catch it (in 8 parts) on youtube. I can't post a link yet but just google "Robot Jox Part 1 of 8" and you should find it very easily.
So what was your first experience with the mech concept? Did Battletech pop your mech-cherry or was it something else?

| The first Windows computer my parents ever bought was an IBM from Radioshack. It came with a whole folder of various CDs and one of them just happened to be Mechwarrior 2. Been playing and enjoying the series ever since. | |

| I think i watched Macross movies in TV (the 5h marathon friday night hehe) then i got a copy of MW2 for my first PC, got the first novels (GDL trillogy and the Warrior trillogy). Quite on the same time, i started playing MPBT:Solaris on AOL (my father found an advertisement and told me). Since then, i played years of MW2 and MPBT untill the next MW came out and so on... got everything besides the dark age crap from then on. do i have to say, im so happy for this reboot? | |

| My first experince with Battletech/Mechwarrior was the age old Table top game, along with the crescent hawk games on pc all the way up to mechwarrior 4, read all the novels up to the dark age BS!!!!. even own at one time the Robotech table top game book. Of course i was a blessed we lad at 5 years of age when my Aunt and Uncle got me started playing 1st ed. DnD, and a plethora of other pen and pencil RPG's. So 30 something years later i am a big gaming geek still.. | |

| Started with MechWarrior 2 at about 6-7, been sticking with the series since then (with the exception of the MechAssault games). Unfortunately, I have not ever had a chance to play tabletop; because of my love for and desire to play old tabletop games like Battletech and Dungeons and Dragons, I often feel I was born a couple decades late | |

| Mine was the novels. My uncle was a big time table-top rp'er and has practically all the source books and novels. My parents wouldn't let me play (in fact, I didn't get to play the TT version of BattleTech until I had moved out in late 1999), but I got to read the novels and sourcebooks. My first gaming experiece was way back in 1994 or 1995 (can't clearly remember), when I was in junior high and got my hands on the Sega Genesis game. Man, it was so hard to play and yet I was so excited back then. Hated 2 player mode though! | |

| My first Mech experience was on Mechcommander and Mechwarrior 3. I seem to remember that the beginning mech for mechwarrior 3 was the bushwacker. Been hooked ever since. I specially like the part about them being war machines. War is the ultimate power game. War doesn't establish who is right... only who is left. Cya planetside y'all. | |

| My first mech experience was actually Mechwarrior 3, tbh. My dad introduced it into me. | |

| My first Mech experience was MPBT by AOL (until now still the best community), than directly go to the Books and Mechwarrior 3. I played the 3025 Beta and MPBT until the last minutes the Server shut down. That were great times. After that I survived with MW4 and Megamek. Let hope for a great renew | |

| My first mech-esque experience was Earthsiege and Earthsiege 2. I wish those games would have done better as they were awesome. My first Mechwarrior experience was in the super nintendo game Mechwarrior 3050, then MW2 on sega saturn. I think I played MW3 at my friends house once. His dad got me started on earthsige and mechwarrior.
Oh, yes, I had the movie Robot Jox up till last year when I threw all my vhs tapes away, never going to have a vcr again probably.
